Hypercholesterolemia and prevention of cardiovascular disease

Each film-coated tablet contains 10mg of Rosuvastatin (as rosuvastatin calcium)

2 x 7 film-coated tablets

The recommended starting dose is 5 or 10 mg once daily.Patients who require a large reduction in LDL-C (more than 45%) may be started at 20mg once daily .The dosage range is 5 to 40 mg once daily .

Do not use if you are allergic to rosuvastatin, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. Do not use if you are pregnant, breast-feeding, have liver disease, severe kidney problems, repeated or unexplained muscle aches or pain.

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common side effects are headache, stomach pain, constipation, feeling sick, muscle pain, feeling weak and dizziness.

Some medicines can affect the way that rosuvastatin works, and increase the chances of side effects. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any of these medicines :** Immunosuppressive agent such as ciclosporin.**Antibiotics such as erythromycin or fusidic acid .**Some antivral medicines used to treat infections such as HIV and hepatitis **Medicine for indigestion remedies and preventing blood clots such as clopidogrel and warfarin **Contraceptive pills such as the combined pill and hormone replacement therapy (HRT) **Other medicines, called fibrates or any other cholesterol-lowering medicines
