Indications
Abivit Multivitamin Drops is indicated for the prevention of vitamin deficiencies and for the maintenance of normal growth and health during the early years of infancy and childhood; multivitamin supplement.
Chemical Composition
Each 1.0 ml contains:
Vitamin A (as Synthetic Retinol Concentrate BP) (Oily form): 2500 I.U.
Cholecalciferol BP (Vitamin D3): 200 I.U.
Thiamine Hydrochloride B.P.: 0.5 mg
Riboflavine B.P. 0.5 mg
(as Riboflavine Sodium Phosphate BP)
Pyridoxine HCIBP: 0.5mg
D-Panthenol B.P.: 1.5mg
Nicotinamide B.P.: 5mg
Ascorbic Acid B.P.: 25mg
Vitamin E Acetate B.P.: 2.5 I.U.
Zinc Sulphate B.P.: 11 mg
(Equivalent to elemental Zinc 2.5 mg)
Flavoured syrupy base: Q.S.

Dosage & Administration
Infants less then one year 1 ml daily. Children above one year 2 ml ile in a single for two divided doses.
Contraindications
Abivit Multivitamin Drops is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to the product or any of its components including peanut oil.
Warning & Precautions
When prescribing Abivit Multivitamin Drops, as with all multi-vitamin preparations, allowance should be made for vitamins obtained from other sources to prevent hypervitaminosis occurring.
Side Effects
Vitamin A palmitate: Adverse effects are extremely rare at daily doses of less than 9mg (16363. 6 I.U). Ergocalciferol (Vitamin D2) The only known adverse effects of vitamin D occur when excessive doses are taken. Adverse effects are not anticipated at the quantity present in Abivit Multivitamin Drops. Ascorbic Acid (C), Nicotinamide, Pyridoxine (B6), Riboflavine (B2) & Thiamine (B1) These water soluble vitamins are - generally non toxic compounds with a wide margin of safety, the excess amounts being rapidly excreted in the urine. Adverse effects are not anticipated at the quantities present in Abivit Multivitamin Drops.
Drug Interaction
Vitamin supplements can interact with certain medications or affect how medications work in your body. Before taking a vitamin/mineral product, tell your doctor if you also use: diuretics, heart or blood pressure medications; tretinoin, isotretinoin, trimethoprim and sulfamethoxazole, an NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) such as ibuprofen, naproxen, diclofenac, etodolac, indomethacin, ketoprofen, and others.
