Analgesic, Anti-inflammatory (Non-steroidal)

Indications

Arthritic conditions: rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute gout.Acute musculo-skeletal disorders such as periarthritis (for example frozen shoulder), tendonitis, tenosynovitis, bursitis.Other painful conditions resulting from trauma, including fracture, low back pain, strains, dislocations, orthopaedic, dental and other minor surgery.

Each suppository contains Diclofenac sodium 100 mg

2 x 5 suppositories

Dosage & Administration

Follow your doctor or pharmacist's instructions. For Adults, normally inserted one, two, or three times a day up to a maximum total daily dose of 150mg. The number of suppositories you need will depend on the strength the doctor has given you. For elderly, the doctor may advise to take a lower dose than the usual adult dose if you are elderly.

Contraindications

Do not use if you are allergic to diclofenac sodium, aspirin, ibuprofen, or any other NSAID, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine Do not use if you have had stomach or bowel issues with other NSAIDs, severe heart, kidney, or liver failure, are over six months pregnant, or experience straining, diarrhea, or rectal bleeding.

Side Effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Uncommon side effects are headache, drowsiness, dizziness, loss of appetite and irritation of the rectum.

Drug Interaction

Some medicines can interfere with your treatment. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any of the following: antidiabetic drugs, anticoagulants, diuretics, lithium, methotrexate, ciclosporin and tacrolimus, quinolone antibiotics, any other NSAID or COX-2 inhibitor (eg. aspirin or ibuprofen), Mifepristone, Cardiac glycosides (eg. digoxin), SSRIs, Oral steroids, beta-blockers or ACE inhibitors.
