Indications
Acute bacterial sinusitis, acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, community-acquired pneumonia, complicated skin and soft tissue infections, pyelonephritis, complicated urinary tract infections, chronic bacterial prostatitis, uncomplicated cystitis, inhalation anthrax : post exposure prophylaxis and curative treatment
Chemical Composition
Each film-coated tablet contains 250mg of Levofloxacin as Levofloxacin Hemihydrate.

Dosage & Administration
Adults and the elderly :**Sinus infection, lungs infection in people with long term breathing problems and prostate gland infection : Two tablets of Medolevo 250mg, once each day or one tablet of Medolevo 500mg, once each day **Pneumonia and skin and soft tissue infection : Two tablets of Medolevo 250mg, once or twice each day or 500mg, once or twice each day **Urinary tract infection : One or two tablets of Medolevo 250mg, once each day or 1/2 or one tablet of Medolevo 500mg, once each day
Contraindications
Contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to levofloxacin, any other quinolone antibiotics (eg. moxifloxacin, ciprofloxacin or ofloxacin) or any of the other ingredients of this medicine, history of tendonitis or tendon rupture associated with treatment of any member of the quinolone group, epilepsy, pregnancy, breast-feeding and child or a growing teenager.
Side Effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common side effects are headache, allergic reactions, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, indigestion, insomnia, dizziness and changes in taste or smell
Drug Interaction
May interfere GI absorption with antacids, containing Al or Mg, sucralfate, metal ions eg, Fe and multivitamin preparation with zinc. May increase risk on CNS stimulation and convulsive seizures with NSAIDs. May cause blood glucose disturbances with antidiabetic agents
