Drug Interaction

Always tell your doctor if you are using or receiving any of the following medicines in addition to Meroright : 1.Probenecid inhibits the renal tubular secretion of meropenem, which can increase meropenem levels in the blood.2. Valproic Acid (Valproate): Meropenem can lower the blood levels of valproic acid, potentially leading to a reduction in its effectiveness in preventing seizures3. Other Antibiotics (e.g., Aminoglycosides): When meropenem is used in combination with other antibiotics, especially aminoglycosides (e.g., gentamicin), there is a potential for increased nephrotoxicity.4.Methotrexate: Although not a direct drug interaction, the use of meropenem with methotrexate could potentially increase the risk of toxicity due to the impact of meropenem on renal function, which may affect methotrexate clearance.5. Anticoagulants (e.g., Warfarin):There is some evidence that meropenem may slightly increase the anticoagulant effect of warfarin.
